BACKSTORY
Everyday battles turn into everyday conversations and often into song!
Here's a glimpse into some of the lyrics and the truths they seek to express...
Our enemy, Satan says, “it’s no big deal if you do this or that” then immediately turns right around and condemns us for giving in. Then we go to bed, wake up the next day and…it starts all over again. His mission is to kill, steal and destroy. It’s maddening! We can say “enough!” as we boldly stand our ground against his lies and temptations.
Enough is also a deep, beautiful word! As we reach for God for all our help, we discover that He is enough.
I lift my head up and put the armor on.
Lifting our head up is an act of faith, of refusing shame and condemnation and agreeing with how God sees us.
Putting on the whole armor of God as talked about in Ephesians 6 is a daily thing, not just when we feel weak. We must do our part in preparing for the battle each day!
I’ll join the battle and we’ll be singing Your song…
We are not meant to be lone rangers. We are meant to love, serve, do battle, and stand strong alongside fellow believers. They remind us of who we are and who God is when we need it, and we do the same for them.
BOTTOM LINE: We can recognize the enemy’s tactics and lies more readily when we are properly equipped and connected with the Lord and other believers. We become better spouses, parents, workers, and examples to those around us.
May this song make these truths stick as we go out and represent!
LYRICS
The enemy says THAT choice is no big deal
Just do what you want, do what you feel
He says there’s nothing you can do or say
That can change this world anyway
And he says what a waste of time it is to pray
He says what a waste of time it is to pray
Then God reminds me of who I am
I say enough is enough
You say turn to You not to myself
I will reach for You for all my help
Because You are enough
It’s a different day but the same old stuff
The enemy tells me that You’re not enough
He says I need this or that or anything but You
He pretties up his words but I know it’s a ruse
And then he just starts it all again
Then he just starts it all again
But God reminds me of who I am
I say enough is enough
You say turn to You not to myself
I will reach for You for all my help
Because You are enough
I’ll lift my head up
I’ll put my armor on
I’ll join the battle
And we’ll be singing Your song
Of Your greatness and Your victory
Of Your redemption for the world to see
Yes I say enough is enough
You say turn to You not to myself
I will reach for You for all my help
Because You are enough
I will reach for You for all my help
Because You are enough
Because You are enough
