Lost Man is an autobiography in song. The album art is a picture of me on Devil’s Bridge and represents a major milestone of recovery and hope in my adult life.
My story is not that unique. I think most people can relate in some fashion or form. As a teenager, I was quietly, inwardly yet dangerously rebellious. I suppose to most people, I had no issues that really needed attention. However, anger was consuming me till it seemed there was very little of me left. Eventually it started showing up on the outside and, here’s the kicker, I was proud of my temper. I would fly into a rage, mostly at home and to a few close friends (weird, I know) over just about anything. It almost got me killed. I clearly remember thinking of taking my life on more than a few occasions. It was only the grace of God that I did not.
Jesus rescued me in the summer of 1975 when a huge youth revival swept through the southeastern United States. I began to change almost immediately and He is continuing to change me to this day. I’m deeply grateful. I want to be a mirror of the One who saved me. Moldable, shapeable, soft-hearted, open…these are the things I want to be. This is my brief story. I hope it will be an encouragement to you.
