ABOUT THE SONG

Race relations, politics, Covid19, etc., etc., etc. The hatred and division as displayed on social media and the news, even among Christians, is deeply disturbing to me. If I’m not careful, I could find myself hating as well – not just hating the bad things going on but the people doing and thinking those things. How should we respond to this insanity? How in the world can we turn things around? As I wrestled with these questions, “What Are We Gonna Do” began to form.

The classic rock feel of electric guitar, drums and acoustic guitars attempts to capture both extremes of emotion – the absolute reality of the crisis as well as the absolute reality of the solution. The progression in the chorus is intentional - turn our thoughts, then our eyes and, finally, our hearts to the One who ultimately is in control.

If there is a way through this crisis, towards healing, unity and peace, that way is through help that only comes from God. Our part, however, is to repent, to humble ourselves and to pray. May this song challenge and inspire us to do our part and experience revival as never before.

“God turn our hearts, God make a move, God reveal what’s true! We put our hope in You!!!”
