Don’t Take the Bait was inspired, not surprisingly, by conversations I had with a friend who was experiencing scathing fallout from “taking the bait” on social media. The cost personally, emotionally and professionally was high, as well as needless. 

At the same time, conversations were taking place with another friend on the verge of losing their marriage because of a war of words that got out of hand. 

Proverbs 18:21 says it well: “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose.” My hope is that this song will be an inspiring reminder to humble ourselves and choose words that give life and bear fruit.
