ABOUT THE SONG

From Cindy - My dad lived with Mark and me for five and a half years. He had Parkinson's Disease. This song was inspired by the following experiences...

June 18 - Dad was non-responsive at pill time. Though this was not uncommon, I was particularly overwhelmed with a burden for his soul. I held his hand and through tears shared with him how to know for sure that he was going to heaven. In a whisper, dad said, “I believe”. This took me by surprise and when I didn’t say anything, he whispered, “Did you hear me?” I said “yes” and then he woke up. We didn’t talk about it again. I wasn’t completely at peace but I was also wasn’t burdened. It was perplexing.

Fastforward to October 4 - For a few days, Dad had been more confused than usual and his speech didn’t make sense. When it was time to get him to bed, he was especially confused. He shut his eyes immediately upon laying down and seemed to be unresponsive. Mark and I sat with him awhile, contemplating what was going on. Was he dying? We prayed over him. During that time, while in a chair by Dad’s bed, God gave Mark words for a complete song. The music came just as quickly next day. That is how the song, I Believe, came about.

This song is dedicated to Isaac Moore who inspired it.
