ABOUT THE SONG
I'd been contemplating how busy my daily life was with music, podcasting, coaching and family. Overwhelmed is what came to mind and wondering what I would say no to in order to accomplish the things screaming my name. It's hard to find time to take a deep, healing breath sometimes.
I also deal with defeating self-talk. Sometimes I actually start believing those words and then it spirals out of control.
Then I reflected on the huge difference it makes when I spend time in the Word of God and prayer - everyday, in the morning, first thing, giving God my first fruits and dedicating my day to Him in all that I do and say. When I do this on a regular basis, I am definitely better equipped to face the day in His strength rather than my own.
When my friend, Justin White, and I came together to write, we talked about all these things and “I’ll Start with You” came about as a result.
I hope you'll be inspired to give God your first fruits of the day to honor Him AND to be better equipped to thrive throughout the day rather than just surviving.
Peace
