Over the years Cindy and I have usually had jobs that required a lot of extra effort at Christmas. Unfortunately, weariness on top of cultural pressures often affected our attitudes toward “Christmas” and stole the joy and celebration we wanted to experience.
One year Cindy and I decided to ask the Lord how He wanted us to celebrate. Surprisingly, we had not thought to do this before. After talking and praying, we decided to reclaim our Christmas. We’re not judging others who love the lights, the trees, gobs of presents, rushing around etc. but for us it needed to be different and we discovered there were many others who felt the same way.
